Let's Get Acquainted

Liz Struijf-Mandishora, CFRE

Owner, Primary Facilitator

I am driven by solving problems, fostering team work, and helping organizations and the people in them thrive. I established Quiora Consult after two decades in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and strategy development. As a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), I've led major campaigns, facilitated high-stakes board and leadership sessions, and built strategies that empower organizations to excel. My work is defined by emotional intelligence, a joyful style, and an earnest belief in reciprocal collaboration: that there's always something we can learn from each other. My deep commitment to community and equity is rooted in my Zimbabwean upbringing and found throughout my work. When I'm not in boardrooms, I love to be playing boardgames with my family. We revel in strategy games and my husband has even published one. My two incredible teen boys are also highly-active, which is why I can be found at hockey rinks and soccer fields across the maritimes. In all I do – at home and at work – it is my joy to pursue creativity, curiosity, and collaboration in everything.

Quiora's Story is About "Transformation"

A waterfall in the middle of a green forrest

In Zimbabwe, where I grew up, we have this word: “ubuntu”/"hunu". It means I am because we are. In Zimbabwe, we believe that community is not a simple concept, but an active lifestyle. This belief flows through everything I do. It’s why I established Quiora – to build greater connection, collaboration, and community in my work.

My home of Zimbabwe is known for breathtaking displays of nature. My favourite among them: waterfalls. Our magnificent Victoria Falls is among the World’s Seven Natural Wonders, with over 500,000,000 litres of water fiercely cascading every minute. A powerful display of force that flows elegantly, effortlessly, and freely. When I think about what Quiora does, I think of these waterfalls.

No waterfall is the same, each distinguishable by their unique form and strength. They carve their own path. When they encounter obstacles – boulders, trees, roots – they don’t destroy, they adapt. They mold their surroundings through persistence, finding natural routes over or around barriers. And waterfalls don’t simply exist in an ecosystem; no, they positively transform it. They become a wellspring of life, nourishing all that’s around them. Every waterfall is a picture of resilience: effortlessly enduring. Yet despite their gracefulness, waterfalls are a powerhouse like no other. Generating immense force moment by moment. They teach us that letting go is not losing power but unleashing it.

Quiora exists to help you leverage the waterfall-like force of your organization, through “ubuntu”, the power of community. By journeying alongside you, we want to see you leaning into your unique strengths and carving your own path, effortlessly adapting to barriers, positively transforming the environment around you, and sustaining the test of time – all by wielding the graceful force and power you already possess.

After two decades of executive leadership experience, I was ready to carve my own path by establishing Quiora Consult. Today, it brings me great joy that my work embodies community as an active lifestyle. I get to co-create transformation alongside incredible clients, stakeholders, and partners. Every project we undertake and every session we facilitate taps into heart and soul. We go deep: into culture, relationships, and authentic stories. We build on equity: striving to make space for every voice, especially those often unheeded. And we build together: progressing questions into ideas, ideas into action, and action into impact. Quiora is in the business of community – collaboratively building real change for real people. And we plan to continue transforming organizations with the power of "ubuntu" and the graceful force of waterfalls for a long time coming.
